Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391-10)

This course was originally developed by City & Guilds and the NICEIC in order to satisfy the requirement that qualifying managers and operatives are fully conversant with the requirements of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) for inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.

Entry Requirements

The course is not for beginners. Candidates must already have experience of inspection and testing.  Candidates must be 18 years or older.

 

Course Content

The course covers the requirements of the 17th Edition of BS 7671 for Inspection, Testing and Certification of Installations, both initial verification and periodic inspection and testing.

Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of test results and the associated calculations.

The use of test instruments and the tests required will be demonstrated.

Candidates will be given some hands-on experience in carrying out the main tests and using test instruments and at least a day will be devoted to this.

Candidates will be prepared for the City & Guilds Examination.
