Careers Education and Advice

Careers Education and Advice

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) offer careers guidance, information and advice on employment, training and further study.

A SDS Careers Adviser is in Stow College Main Campus on Wednesday mornings, and is based in Learner Services on the ground floor.  They will be on the Stow West Campus, on the first Wednesday of each month.

The SDS Careers Adviser offers a variety of services to students including:

  • Interviews to discuss career options and routes into chosen careers
  • Assistance with CV's and job applications etc.
  • Help to find web sites to do further career research.

To arrange an appointment with the SDS Career Adviser students should contact a member of staff in one of the following areas: Learning Centre's, Learner Services or The Hub.

Students can also call into their local Skills Development Scotland Careers Centre - no appointment is necessary.  To find the local centre, visit the Skills Development Scotland web site  (https://www.skillsdevelopmentscotland.co.uk/) and click on Tools/Nearest Centre Search.

You can also self help at the My World of Work website - www.myworldofwork.co.uk – The web service for all your work, skills and learning needs.
