There are a number of options at a range of levels available in the College, which are designed to improve and develop literacy and numeracy skills.
All students studying for an Further Education (FE) course will be core skill profiled at the start of term, this profile will highlight strengths and areas where there is a need for some improvement in both English and Numeracy. The software used to complete these profiles will also provide on-line ‘top up’ materials to allow learners to work on their own to develop their skills. Alternatively, learners can arrange appointments with a Learning Advisor and they can opt to work either on a one-to-one basis or using a combination of on-line learning and personal support
Every student in the College will have differing needs and the staff in The Hub try to support as many of these needs as possible. We can tailor this support to suit your individual requirements, whether it is one-to-one tuition or in a group setting.
Learning advisors are available to support students in all literacy and numeracy needs, please do not hesitate to contact us for help. The ALN Co-ordinator is Margaret Cooke and she can be contacted in Room 315 in Stow City Campus, telephone 0141 332 1786 (extension 611) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
