Computing: Computer Animation and Multimedia: Certificate of Higher Education

Computer Animation and Multimedia are important aspects of the creative industries which are showing phenomenal growth worldwide. On this course students learn how to use modern software packages such as Lightwave, Toonboom and Flash to create engaging and appealing 2D and 3D computer animations. In addition, students develop skills in film and video making, sound and video editing.

After successful completion of this course you will receive a Certificate of Higher Education. (This is equivalent in level to a Higher National Certificate (HNC)).

The course is delivered on behalf of the University of the West of Scotland and successful students who satisfy the University’s standard entry criteria are GUARANTEED entry to year 2 of the BSc/BSc (Hons) Computer Animation with Multimedia at the university’s Paisley campus.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have, or expect to achieve, the following as a minimum prior to entry:

  • 2 Higher Grades (bands A-C),
  • 3 further Standard Grade (bands 1-3) OR Intermediate 2 (bands A-C), one of which must be Mathematics
  • English or Communication at Standard Grade (band 1-3) OR Intermediate 2 (band A-C)
  • Candidates 25yrs or over may be accepted with lower qualifications, subject to relevant computing experience.

Applications should be made directly to the Univeristy of the West of Scotland (Paisley Campus) in the first instance.
