Applied Sciences: NQ (Part Time) (Higher level - year 2)

This course meets the needs of people who wish to pursue a career in Science-related professions such as Microbiology, Physiology, Plant or Animal Biology, and Chemistry. Course also of value to students intending to enter professions allied to medicine such as Nursing, Radiography, Physiotherapy etc.

This is year two of a two year programme that will progress you through the applied science subjects in biology, chemistry and physics in one year at Higher level.  Candidates can gain direct entry to year 2 as long as they have met the minimum entry requirements. 

This may be the starting point for students who have not achieved a Higher in Chemistry but wish to continue to our HNC or HND programmes in Applied and Biomedical Science.

This programme is intended for those students who wish to increase their knowledge in the sciences in order that they can progress towards an award of HNC Applied Science or HND Biomedical Science in a few years time.

Entry Requirements

4 Standard Grades (grade 3 or above) or 4 Intermediate 2 awards (grade C or above).

Two must be from Biology, Chemistry or Maths.

OR an appropriate range of SQA NC modules or NQ units.

Entry by informal interview.
