Applied Science: HNC (Part Time) (Chemistry Major)

These courses provide a broad understanding of Biology and Chemistry together with a large element of Laboratory training. The courses are most suitable for students in employment in a laboratory (or others unable to attend on a full time basis) who possess an NQ Science or equivalent qualifcation and wish to progress to HNC/HND level.

Entry Requirements

SUBJECT TO CHANGE

One Chemistry Higher at grade C or above, (or Biology Higher grade C and Maths Higher grade B), Standard Grade Mathematics at level two or above, plus two other Standard Grades from Biology, Chemistry, Physics or English at level two or above, or equivalent Intermediate 2 grades (A or B).

An appropriate range of SQA NC or NQ units will also be considered.

Animal, Plant and Human Biology; Chemistry; Laboratory Skills (Biology, Chemistry, Physics); Mathematics; Computer Applications; Communication; Physics and Additional Chemistry.
