Designed to enable adults with no formal qualifications to prepare, in one year, for entry into a degree course in Optometry or Ophthalmic Dispensing.
There are no formal academic prerequisites however applicants should preferably have a gap (4 years out of school) in their formal education. Applicants should have a strong interest in mathematics and physics, and preferably a good background in these subjects.
Successful applicants progressing to university in health related areas will need to satisfy criteria outlined by the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) (Scotland) Act 2007.
Candidates should be highly motivated and conscientious. Admission is by informal interview.

BSc (Hons) Optometry, BSc Opthalmic Dispensing at Glasgow Caledonian University or other Chemical/Biology/Physics based HNC, HND or degree level courses.
International Lifelong Learning Partnership Through this project international students are offered the opportunity to study towards a UK degree through the college partnership route with Stow.
