University Links

Stow College enjoys strong links with many Universities. In particular, Stow has formal progression links with the University of Strathclyde, the University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University.

These links offer students a more secure means of reaching their most appropriate level of qualification, with the option of transferring to a University course, if necessary.

For potential students there now exists an unparalleled range of entry and exit points to and from courses at Stow College, with simple means of transferring through the range of qualifications available.

University of Strathclyde

In June 2003, the College signed a unique Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Strathclyde on progression and articulation routes for students.

This agreement covers the full range of courses offered by the two institutions and means that anyone coming to Stow College with the ability and ambition to complete a University degree will be able to progress to Strathclyde and get full credit for their further education.

For some students this will mean that two years’ study at Stow will qualify them for direct entry to a third year of a corresponding degree course at the University of Strathclyde.

This is already a partial feature of College/University agreements but is usually confined to a limited number of subjects. That is why this all-embracing agreement is so unique in Scottish education.

Founded in 1796, today Strathclyde is the third largest University in Scotland teaching over 20,000 students in give faculties: Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Science and Strathclyde Business School.
