Social Media

Social media can take on many different forms, including Internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, microblogging, wikis, podcasts, photographs or pictures, video, rating and social bookmarking.

We currently use Facebook, Twitter, a college Blog as our main Social Media methods.

College Blog

We write a weekly college blog to keep you (the readers) up to date with anything that has happened in the college whether that be Health Week, how much money an event has raised, student and staff achievements or an update on Stowaways latest production. Its also used to remind you of anything that is coming up. We also include pictures and links to video whenever possible to add some human interest.

We use an external provider to house our blog, you can find it by going to stowcollege.wordpress.com

Twitter

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one question “What are you doing?”.

We use Twitter to help us keep in touch with you, we tweet fun facts and interesting info, but if we need to let you know about a college problem i.e. sudden closure due to weather conditions, we’ll tweet that too – making sure you are always up to date.

Follow us by going to @StowCollege and click on Follow.

Facebook

Facebook is a social networking website intended to connect friends, family, and business associates. Facebook users create a profile page that shows their friends and networks information about themselves or organisation.

Like Twitter we use Facebook to keep in touch with you.  We send out fun facts, let you know what is happening in the college and we can start discussions, add photographs and invite the page followers to events.  So it’s worthwhile adding us as one of your friends.

To keep in touch through Facebook go to the Stow College Facebook page and click on Like.

Phone App

Stow College launched it's Phone App in September 2011 and is available to download FREE from the Apple and Android stores.

The App is useful for both potential and existing students by providing information on courses, useful contacts, maps and current college news. As well as this, students can make enquiries to the college directly from their phone and access college images and videos.

Our App is suitable for iPhone, iTouch, iPad and any Android driven device.  For more information view the video below.
