Quality Commitment

Stow College is committed to continuous quality improvement of all its activities. In particular, the focus of our improvement programme is on the learner.

We hold a number of Quality Standards including:

• Scottish Qualifications Authority Approved Centre status
• Investor in People
• Quality Scotland Scottish Awards for Business Excellence – ‘Highly Commended’ status
• European Foundation for Quality Management: Recognised for Excellence - 4 Star (Silver)

Also, the College is inspected regularly by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education and Stow continues to meet all required standards.

In fact the most recent inspection resulted in many examples of good practice being highlighted within the College. These were in the areas of on-line learning, access to medicine, enterprise education and staff.

The College recognises the need for excellence in every aspect of its operations and the requirement to direct efforts to identify and meet our customers’ needs.

This requirement is reinforced through the College’s Mission: “Provide user driven services to satisfy the lifelong learning needs of all our customers and communities.”

The College uses the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model as a tool to assess performance and to drive continuous improvement throughout the whole organisation.
