Graduation 2013

2012 Graduation.....

Thursday 24th of October 2013
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
7.00pm

Congratulations! On behalf of the Board and staff of Stow College, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate you on your achievement in successfully completing your course at Stow.

Stow are offering you the opportunity to further celebrate your success, by participating in this year’s College Graduation Ceremony. The Ceremony will take place in the inspiring setting of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Thursday the 24th of October at 7.00pm and will give you the opportunity to celebrate your success in the company of family, friends, fellow students and staff of the College.

Attending the Ceremony is free to all eligible students and their guests, and students are encouraged to bring along family and friends to join in the celebrations.  The Ceremony will include a programme of musical entertainment, and following the formal Graduation Ceremony there will be a short reception with refreshments for graduates and their guests.

The Graduation Awards Ceremony is a formal event and as such all graduating students must wear an academic gown and hood.  Details of how to hire gowns can be found below.  Gowns will be delivered to the Concert Hall on the day of the event.

You are of course encouraged to bring along cameras and video cameras to capture memories of the occasion - and please remember to share these with us, by emailing them to Hilary Ramsay or Tracey Borland or why not post them to our Facebook Page

For more formal photographs, however, the services of a professional photographer will be available at the Ceremony.  You will receive information on prices and options available nearer the time.

If you haven’t yet registered for this year’s (the final) Stow College Graduation Ceremony, there is still time to do so.  Just email the following information to the Graduation Co-ordinator, David Robertson at drobertson@stow.ac.uk quoting “Graduation Registration 2013” in the subject box.

Additional Information

  • Students who have already registerd for Graduation will have their tickets posted out to them next week.
  • Your guests do not need tickets to enter the Concert Hall building, they only need tickets to get in to the main auditorium. Guests will not be allowed into the auditorium before 6.45pm.
  • Please note that guest tickets are for unreserved seating. This means that although their tickets will have a seat number printed on them, they can actually sit in any seat that doesn’t have a ‘RESERVED’ sign on it.
  • Please arrive in plenty of time to register and pick up your gown before the Graduate Rehearsal at 6.30pm. Any delays to the start of the ceremony will lead to a later finishing time which can result in people missing trains and buses after the event.
  • Please do not hesitate to contact David Robertson if you have any questions or concerns.
