Stow is Scotland's longest established College in this field and lecturing staff are active and experienced industry practitioners. We strive to ensure that the teaching is contextualised and practical with opportunities for real world experience. The ability to play a musical instrument such as keyboard or guitar is highly desirable.

Preferably 2 Highers (band C or above) to include English PLUS passes in 2 other subjects at Intermediate 2/Standard Grade Credit to include Maths. The second pass will ideally be Music or a technical subject such as Physics, Graphic Communications or Computing.
Sound Production Theory and Practice; Acoustics; Location Recording; Multitrack Recording; Digital Audio Workstations; Music Industry. There may be scope for some elective study subject to resources.
For session 2011 -12 a specialist route is being offered to suitably qualified applicants. For those with passes in Physics and/or Maths at Higher level this route will cover Audio Electronics and Audio System Design in place of Multitrack Recording.
