Applying to Stow

Who is an international student? This is not always straightforward.

If you hold a British passport, you are a passport holder of an EU country or one of the EEA countries, or a Swiss national; then you can probably apply as a ‘home’ student. This based on the proviso that you meet certain residency criteria, although we do ask you to tell us where your country of origin is, for statistical purposes.

If you have come to the UK as an asylum seeker or a refugee, particular regulations apply to your participation in college and you should discuss your status with a Stow Learner Advisor before applying. If you arrived as either a refugee or an asylum seeker and you have since had your status confirmed (that is you have official leave to remain) you most likely count as a ‘home’ student.

So by exception, other applicants are international or overseas applicants. If you are in any doubt, please contact our Learner Advisors on internationalinformation@stow.ac.uk for prompt advice and information.

You can apply direct from our course pages. To find out more about what courses are offered to international students, click here.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accept applications from International students living outside the UK for the August intake.  Applications received after 9th August 2011 will only be considered for later intakes.
