Stow College scooped the 2011 Scotland’s Colleges Marketing Award for Website - Students' Choice.
Stow College, which celebrated its 76th birthday last year, appointed 999 Design, a leading Branding Agency, to deliver a new and inspiring Website.
The project brief initiated the design of a fresh, new, stimulating site that would become an inspirational resource for students, staff and the general public.
The decision to commission 999 was taken after a consultation session with students and regular workshops assured the continued involvement of students in the design process.
999 Design have successfully created an outstanding website for Stow College. The new site is attractive to 16-25-year-olds, our target audience, it offers an interactive experience and it delivers a strong online identity for Glasgow’s oldest college.
As well as interactive flash elements, the new site incorporates video testimonials of students and their work and offers the option to play music tracks from the college’s well established record labels.
The youth appeal also centre’s on the site’s community section where current and prospective students are able to contact each other online and join dedicated college forums as well as access various social media networking sites. Prospective students can apply online, create their own tailored and downloadable prospectus, and register for RSS and Twitter feeds on Stow news, events and notices.
Operating in a highly competitive market, Stow aspired to stand out from the crowd and the new site’s look and feel reflects a noticeable shift away from typical educational websites. The site continues to develop and has recently launched new video content featuring the Glasgow comedian Raymond Mearns.
Regularly updated, the new Stow website is worthy of book marking for regular visits by anyone interested in Course information, International study, Business skills or to keep abreast of the college’s current news and events.
