Stow is working in partnership with Glasgow Women's Library to deliver two six-week courses in Social Sciences and Social Care
Glasgow Women’s Library was established in Garnethill in 1990, subsequently moving to the Trongate area of the city. The Library is now on the move once more, this time to the city’s prestigious Mitchell Library Complex, where it will occupy the former Anderston Library premises at 15 Berkeley St. As well as an extensive lending library covering fiction, social sciences, politics, health and other women’s issues, Glasgow Women’s Library provides a unique space for learning and cultural events. The library is women-only during normal opening hours, and the courses run there are specifically designed for women who have been out of education for some time and who may lack confidence in coming to college.
Stow is working in partnership with GWL to deliver two six-week courses in Social Sciences and Social Care, starting in September and November 2010. There is an information session at Glasgow Women’s Library at 1pm on Wednesday 22 September – all welcome. The classes are fun, informal and welcoming, providing a chance to learn about new topics, develop confidence and find out about opportunities for further study.
