Stow donates £1314 to Bobath Scotland
As part of Stow’s commitment to helping the wider community various fundraising events are held in the college throughout the year, the proceeds of which are passed on to the college’s selected charity for that year. We are proud to announce that we have already donated £1314 to Bobath Scotland, our charity for 2010.
Bobath therapy explores ways of encouraging more natural movement patterns that can be integrated into the everyday life of kids with cerebral palsy. The Bobath approach recognises that each child is an individual and that therapy requires to be tailored for each child. It is not a rigid regime of exercises.
They offer a specialist knowledge base to analyse the child’s skills and suggest ways of enhancing their abilities. Everyone involved in the care and development of each child is invited to the therapy sessions - including parents and siblings, local therapists, teachers and nursery assistants - ensuring the aims for each child are co-ordinated and realistic to their own environments.
Let them inspire you to RISE to the challenge.
All fundraising activities will be centred on Bobath. It helps children with cerebral palsy achieve the best quality of life possible. Just one block of therapy costs £4k - £4.5k per child so the centre is thankful for all funds sent to it.
