In addition to offering the diverse range of learning opportunities described in this Prospectus, Stow College is also the largest provider of Trade Union education in Scotland.
Courses provided by the College's Trade Union Education Department include Stage 1 and 2 courses for union representatives and union health and safety representatives. The Department also provides short courses in Employment Law, Stress at Work and Risk Assessment plus many others.
The Department also meets the training needs of employers and unions by undertaking, at their request, courses within various workplaces. In addition to this the Department provides IT training for trade unionists. These take place as day release or evening courses.
The Trade Union Education Department also runs an extensive range of online courses including:
- Health & Safety Stage 1;
- The TUC Certificate in Occupational Safety;
- The Stewards Introductory course.
