The Management and General Education Department is happy to be able to contribute to the College's commitment to the provision of lifelong learning opportunities across all of its programmes. Whether you are already in supervision or management and want to develop your skills and understanding or you are seeking to embark on a new career we have a wide range of programmes, both general and specialist, which will enhance your CV and open new career paths for you. Only recently we introduced courses in Health Care, Social Care and the Social Sciences into our portfolio and all are now well established and much-demanded courses. Each provides access to some of the emerging employment sectors such as the welfare and caring services. Remember, too, that as well as enhancing your personal effectiveness in work or helping you to gain promotion, many of our courses will assist you in progressing on to courses in a wide range of Universities and faculties. We offer part-time and full-time courses specially designed to bring people back into learning and training and to build confidence as well as skills. In this regard we would particularly direct you to our Pathways to General Education course as well as the Department's range of Access courses. Another recent and highly successful addition to our portfolio has been the offer of a range of SQA Highers. We aim at all times to make the learning experience in this Department as lively, practical and varied as possible. You can expect both traditional lectures and highly interactive sessions using the best of modern educational technology. Please note that most of the courses listed in each subject area commenced in August 2009. Many of the courses will also be available from August 2010. Please contact Learner Services regarding the availability of courses for August 2010. |
