The course covers the requirements of the 17th Edition of BS 7671 for Inspection, Testing and Certification of Installations and in particular the fundamentals of initial verification of domestic installations. It does not cover periodic inspection & testing.
The course is suitable for candidates with little or no experience in inspecting and testing. (Candidates with experience in inspection & testing are directed to the 2391-10 qualification which requires some prior knowledge).
The course will include analysis of test results and the associated calculations.
The use of test instruments and the tests required will be demonstrated.
Candidates will be given hands-on experience in carrying out the main tests and using test instruments and at least a day will be devoted to this.
Candidates will be prepared for the City & Guilds Examination. The Examination for the City & Guilds Certificate is in two parts:
1) A two hour practical assessment which will take place after the course. Dates will be arranged during the 4-day course.
2) A ninety minute closed book on-line examination of 50 questions. Please see attached exam schedule for dates.
